ReCASTĀ Mecklenburg (Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma) is a 5-year grant awarded to Mecklenburg County Public Health Department by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). ReCASTĀ facilitates community-based approaches that improve trauma informed care and resilience for systems, organizations and communities in the priority health area. The award is $5 million over the grant period. Trainings, activities, and other events hosted by the ReCAST grant are provided to support community resilience.
No costs will be charged to participants.


The purpose of this website is to serve as a communications resource; to support the community in promoting trauma-informed community responses grounded in healing and safety; and to evolve with community feedback.
