Systems change through a Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Oriented (TIRO) lens is a community-based effort. Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Oriented Care (TIROC) creates a high-level approach to the way communities interact – whether it is peer-to-peer within organizations or interactions between providers and recipients so that participants feel their needs were met.
How can communities transform dialogue around trauma informed care and resiliency into action?
ReCAST supports transformative leadership as a key part of community safety and healing. Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Oriented and Equitable (TIROE) Leadership and Supervision are innovations in which individuals infuse the core values of safety, trust, transparency, voice and choice, collaboration, mutuality, empowerment, peer support, understanding cultural, historical and gender issues, and diversity, equity and engagement into their practices, interactions, and culture.
Through the ReCAST effort, an opportunity is available for a limited number of individuals to join 1 of 3 Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Oriented Communities of Practice (CoP) tailored to front-line staff, middle managers, and executive leadership. The first of five 90 minute sessions will kick off in early September. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with other individuals throughout the Mecklenburg community who are committed to creating and advancing TIROE environments within their organizations through presentations on key issues and discussions around real cases to reduce trauma, avoid re-traumatization, build resiliency and equity and overall, improve the access to and quality of services provided to historically marginalized communities.
